General Terms and Conditions of Use

1. Our Commitment to Value We partner directly with renowned Japanese artisans, including Ichi Inc., to offer their exquisite products at the most competitive prices globally. To maintain these low prices, our sales model does not factor in the costs associated with returns or cancellations.
2. Order Cancellation, Returns, and Refunds Due to our pricing structure, we do not accept cancellations, returns, or refunds for orders made at the customer's request. All sales are final.
3. Reshipment Policy for Undeliverable Orders If an order is returned to us due to the recipient's refusal (e.g., non-payment of customs duties) or an incorrect address provided by the customer, we will hold the order. To initiate reshipment, the customer must pay the additional shipping costs.
3.1. Incorrect Information Provided by Purchaser: If the return is due to an error made by the purchaser (e.g., incorrect address or recipient name), the purchaser will be responsible for covering the new shipping costs. Upon receipt of these costs, we will reship the package from our office.
3.2. Error Attributable to Our Company: If the return is due to an error on our part (e.g., incorrect address provided by us), we will cover the re-shipping costs, and the package will be resent from our office.
3.3. Shipping Cost Agreement: Any additional shipping costs for reshipment will be mutually agreed upon between the purchaser and our company prior to reshipment.
4. Product Use Policy and Disclaimer The products offered for sale (e.g., ink sticks, inks) are specifically designed and intended for traditional calligraphy and watercolor painting on paper. Should these products be utilized for any purpose other than their stated original intent, the user assumes all associated risks. Shodo Doodles, LLC and ICHI Inc. shall not be held liable for any damages, injuries, or other consequences resulting from the misuse or unintended application of our products.
5. Import Duties, Taxes, and Compliance As the importer of record in the destination country, all customers are responsible for: a. Paying all applicable import fees, including import duties and customs taxes. b. Ensuring that the purchased products can be lawfully imported into the destination country and comply with all local laws and regulations.
6. Shipping Disclaimers We do not assume responsibility for delivery accidents. By placing an order, customers acknowledge and agree to this disclaimer.
7. Product Import Restrictions Please note that certain items, particularly liquid inks and brushes, may be subject to import restrictions in some countries. It is the customer's responsibility to verify their country's import regulations before placing an order. We will also perform a check during the shipping process. If we identify any products that cannot be shipped to your location, the entire order will be canceled, and you will be notified. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
8. Product Variations The products sold in our online store may show variations in color and shape when compared to their photographs. This is common due to seasonal changes, specific product dimensions, or because many of our items are handmade, giving each a unique character. Your purchase signifies your understanding and acceptance of these possible discrepancies. Consequently, we are unable to process returns or issue refunds solely based on differences in color or shape from what was pictured.
9. Shipping Weight The stated shipping weight includes the weight of all necessary packing materials.
10. International Shipping Limitations Due to the ongoing war of invasion against Ukraine by Russia, shipping services from the United States are currently unavailable to some countries. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We may be able to arrange individual shipping solutions for certain regions. If your country is not listed as a shipping destination on the checkout page, please contact us directly. We hope for a swift return to global peace.
